SERVPRO’s Professional Disinfectant, What is SERVPROXIDE?
SERVPROXIDE™, SERVPRO’s proprietary disinfectant, is a hospital-grade disinfectant that has demonstrated effectiveness against viruses similar to SARS-CoV-2 on hard, non-porous surfaces. In addition, SERVPROXIDE™ currently has dozens of EPA-approved claims including Feline coronavirus, Canine coronavirus, Staphylococcus (MRSA), E. coli, Salmonella, Rotavirus, Swine flu (H1N1) and more.
What Is the Difference Between a Household and Hospital Grade Disinfectant?
Both cover the range of kill claims for Broad Spectrum microbes, but a Hospital Grade Disinfectant has the added kill claim for Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a bacterium that is responsible for many surgical and wound infections in hospitals. Hospital Grade disinfectants will have hospital use claims on product label.
What Is SERVPROXIDE Made Of?
SERVPROXIDE is a Hospital Grade EPA Registered water-based disinfectant. It contains the active ingredients of stabilized chlorine dioxide and quaternary ammonium chloride. It also contains a biodegradable, non-hazardous blend of surfactants to help solubilize the microbial proteins which allow the active ingredients to oxidize and kill the microbe more efficiently. SERVPROXIDE carries the EPA’s lowest toxicity category and is NSF certified for direct food contact surface use. It has a wide spectrum of applications on both porous and hard non-porous surfaces. In addition, it has an extensive efficacy list which includes norovirus, rotavirus and adenovirus. Finally, it is a strong and robust disinfectant without the safety issues of other disinfectants that have comparable kill claims.
